Marco Speroni started out as an artist then from 1985 he directed many art and cultural documentaries with his own company, Officinema Productions, based in Parma. In 1996 win the prestigious Premio Solinas Award for Best Screenplay, from which he then went on to direct his debut feature film his screenplay “What’s love got to do with it” screened in many international Festivals including the Locarno Film Festival (1997).
From 1998 he began a ng partnership with Italy’s state owned TV networks – RAI and Sky Italy. Sincec then in 2011 has directed “In Hell’s Heart” a Docfiction shot in war zone in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the documentary “Time to look at girls” (2014) and “2 Girls” (2016) which has won a number of awards at Festivals around the world. In 2018 he directed “Outside” a documentary shot in USA, Uganda and Ireland about people wrongly convicted and sentenced to death till they proved their innocence.
